Magdeyev Mukhammet
M. Magdeyev was born on January 1, 1930 in the village of Guburchak, Arsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. He finished the Arsk Pedagogical School. In 1950-1954 he served in the Baltic Navy, graduated from the correspondence department of the Kazan Pedagogical Institute, finished the post-graduate course of the Kazan State University, defended the Ph.D. thesis on philology. M. Magdeyev came to literature as a literature critic and specialist in study of literature. He was interested in the history of the development of the Tatar literature, problems of scientific study of folklore, and many his critical and journalist articles were published in periodicals. M. Magdiyev started his career of a prose writer at the end of 1960s, when his first short stories and miniatures were published. The story 'We are the children of 1941' presented the author as a bright original prose writer. Each new M. Magdiyev's work - the novels 'Front-line soldiers', 'Goose feather', the story 'The man leaves - the song stays', 'Fire flower' and others - were being met with the great interest and estimated as a prominent event of the Tatar prose. M. Magdiyev was more, then anybody else of his contemporaries, absorbed into the national elements. His original way of thought, turns of speech, indirectness, and implication testifies his unbroken connections with the Tatar people's way of life, customs, speech. M. Magdeyev was given the honourary title of Peoples writer of the Republic of Tatarstan and The G. Tukai's Government Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan. M. Magdeyev died on June 14, 1995. |
