Pages: 1 2
One of the oldest music educational establishments of Russia - the Kazan music school, opened in 1904, is situated in the center of Kazan, in the building of former Zemstvo, where the great Russian Kazan born singer Fedor Ivanovich Shalyapin was working for some time.

  History

Its 97-year-old history is rich and various. The school was organized by the Kazan branch of Russian Music Society in 1904 on the base of already existing private music schools. One of the most distinguished musicians of the city, conductor, pianist, composer, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov's student -R.A. Gummert - was the founder of the school and its first director.

The first teachers of the school, graduates of Petersburg and Moscow conservatories: K.A. Korbut, M.A. Pyatnitskaya, R.L. Polyakov, A.N. Raniets laid the foundation for high professionalism and spirituality.

According to the new ideas of post-revolutionary period, in 1921 the school was reorganized in the Eastern music school, and a graduate of Moscow conservatory A.A. Litvinov became its director. Prominent musicians: a music critic (a friend of P.I. Tchaikovsky) N.D. Kashkin, a choir conductor I.S. Morev, a singer E.G. Kovelkova, theorists A. F. Bormusov and V.I. Vinogradov, a composer and the first Tatar musicologist S. Gabashi were enlisted on Litvinov's initiation.

Being a talented organizer of symphonic concerts and opera productions, A.A. Litvinov paid attention to bringing up national specialists. Those were the years when a group of talented students studied in the Eastern music school, later they became the pride of the national culture: the founder of Tatar professional music S. Saidashev, creators of national opera and symphony N. Zhiganov, of national ballet F. Yarullin, composers M. Muzafarov, Z. Habibullin, A. Klyucharev, musicologists Yu. Vinogradov and H. Bulatova-Teregulova, singers M. Rakhmanculova and G. Kaibitskaya. The government estimated A.A. Litvinov's work very high. He was the first, who received the title of Honoured Worker of Arts of Tatarstan.

The 1930s became a remarkable period in the school history. Attracting new creative powers, it became the musical center of the republic and played a distinguished role in forming national performing and composers' school. Graduates of the school of those years constituted the base of young collectives of Tatar State Philharmonic Society, Tatar opera studio in Moscow, Ensemble of Song and Dance, Tatar radio.

Those were the years when a graduate of Leningrad State conservatory, a violinist and a conductor I.V. Auhadeyev (today the school bears his name) was appointed the director of the school (reorganized again in 1936). His activity on this post during more then 30 years (from 1933 to 1968) was extraordinary various and productive. New departments - composition, theory of music, folk instruments - were established in the school, an orchestra class was created, and the department for blind students was introduced. I.V. Auhadeyev spent a lot of his talent and power on training orchestra musicians. He gave lessons for symphonic orchestra 35 years during 35 years. Owing to his tireless energy and pedagogic skill the orchestra achieved high performing level. The orchestra of the music school accompanied famous musicians, laureates of international and all-Union contests: V. Pikaizen, I. Bochkovaya, A.Ginsburg, M. Yashvily.I.V. Auhadeyev's educational activity as a conductor was of a wide range. In 1950s the city's combined symphonic orchestra and in 1960s inter-district symphonic orchestra with its center in Almetievsk were organized under his leadership. All that served the professional base for creating philharmonic symphonic orchestra of Tatarstan.

Teaching musicians of different specialities, during the years of the war the school had provided the Kazan conservatory, opened in 1945, with first students (a number of the school graduates became the professors of the conservatory later).

During the relatively short period (1940s-1950s) the Kazan music school had taught many talented musicians, who became the brilliants of musical culture of the Republic. There are leading soloists of the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Tatar State Philharmonic Society, Honored and People's Artists of Tatarstan and Russia among them - singers I. Shakirov, Z. Hismatullina, V. Gizzatulina , R. Miphtakhova, pianists E. Akhmetova, E. Burnasheva, F. Khasanova, a conductor T. Akhmetov, violinists M. Akhmetov, Sh. Monasypov, composers A. Monasypov, F. Akhmetov, R. Yenikeyev, M. Yarullin, a composer of the world value S. Gubaidullina.

The atmosphere of creativity and high spirituality, laid by the founders of the school, was maintained and strengthened during the next years.

In 1970s Kazan music school, led by M.G. Gumerov, extended creative connections with the schools of Moscow, Leningrad and Sverdlovsk, the concerts in the towns and cities of Tatarstan became a tradition.

Our days Today the I.V. Aukhadeyev' Kazan music school keeps being the most important part in the system of musical education, upbringing and enlightenment in the Republic. Its new director Honoured Worker of Culture of the RT R. G. Sabitovskaya leads the collective to the new creative achievements.

Preserving traditions of Kazan pianists' school, R. G. Sabitovskaya harmoniously combines her qualities of the competent teacher and excellent manager. The school's teachers actively take part in city seminars and interregional conferences, offering new ideas in the field of musical pedagogic and methodic.

The I.V. Aukhadiyev's Kazan music school has been one of the most prominent cultural centers of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan from the first days of it establishing (it happened almost 100 years ago). It's activity is directed not only to training professional musicians, but to propaganda of music art on the different levels of social life in the Republic and beyond its boundaries, and to productive development of national cultural traditions.

The school's collaboration with the organizations and establishments of culture of Kazan, different regions of Russia, the countries of the CIS and foreign countries contributes to it a lot.

There are long and productive connections between the school and the Kazan State Conservatory, Composers' Union, Theatre workers' Union, Artists' Union of the RT, The Academy of Arts, Scientists' House.
