Speransky Peter
Creative work of the Honoured worker of art of the RSFSR, People's artist of Tataria Peter Speransky is connected with two national theatres: the Kamal's Tatar Academic theatre and the Jalil's Tatar State Opera and Ballet theatre. Peter Tikhonovich Speransky was born in 1890 in Kazan. In 1924 he graduated from the Kazan Art Institute. In 1922-1938 he worked as the artist in chief in the Academic theatre. In 1940-1964 he worked as the artist in chief in the Jalil's Opera and Ballet theatre. P. Speransky was a painter who was able to comprehend musical rhythm of the performance, penetrate into its atmosphere and create artistic image. His best works ('Prince Igor' by A.P. Borodin, 'Swan lake' by P.I. Tchaikovsky, 'Shurale' by F. Yarullin) are conformable to the dramaturgy. P. Speransky's gift was especially brightly shown when mounting national musical performances. Profound knowledge of the history of the Tatar people, their culture, folklore helped him to penetrate into the structure of images of the performances 'Altynchech', 'Bashmagym' and others. The creative personality of Speransky combined the properties of an architect and an artist. Mastering the art of drawing, the laws of perspective, scenic space allowed him create depth and scale of a performance.
