  Rafikov Iskander

  Rafikov Iskander Valiullovich is People's artist of Tatarstan, Honoured worker of art, professor of the Kazan State Architecture and Construction Academy.
  
  He was born in Kazan in 1929. He graduated from the Latvian Academy of Art in Riga in 1955. Since 1964 he has been a member of Artists Union of the USSR.
  
  I.V. Rafikov's works are known in the republic and beyond its boundaries. Appearing at the republic, zone, all-union and international exhibitions, they become a prominent event, were appreciated by the local and central press as a success, as an achievement of the painter. Rafikov I.V. is a painter who works at the same time in portrait genre, easel paintings, and book design. His works are kept in museums of fine art in Russia, Tatarstan, Berlin and private collections in Finland, the USA and Japan.
