  Alexander Arbuzov

Arbuzov Alexander Erminingeldovich was born on October 12, 1877 -
academician, founder of the Kazan chemical school of phosphororganics - one
of the leading world centres in this area. He was a follower of A.M.Zaitsev.
He graduated from the Kazan university in 1900, since 1901 - the assistant,
and since 1906 - the professor of the institute of agriculture and forestry
in the city of Novo-Alexandria (Poland).

Since 1911 - the professor of the Kazan university. In different years he

managing faculty of organic chemistry of the Kazan chemical technological
institute, he headed created on his initiative the research chemical
institute named after A.M.Butlerov of the Kazan university (1929), Kazan
branch of Russian Academy of Science (1945). Under his initiative in Kazan

carrying nowadays his name. A.E.Arbuzov's labour and public works are marked
  by numerous state awards.

In his researches A.E.Arbuzov developed Butlerov's theory of chemical
structure, mainly on phosphororganic compounds. In his dissertation "About
the structure of phosphor acid and its derivatives" (1905) Arbuzov
established a chemical structure of this acid though many foreign scientists
in 19 century vainly worked on it, and opened catalitic reaction of
regrouping of average ethers of the same acid.

A.E.Arbuzov was widely erudite and versatile person. In student's years he
