  Kazan - city of scientists

  In the beginning of XX century the Kazan scientists continued to develop
  the best scientific traditions and presented a number of important works on
  chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, medicine to the world. The big
  contribution was brought by scientists to the development of domestic
  chemistry. Follower of N.N.Zinin A.M.Butlerov was the founder of new school
  of organic chemistry. The Kazan astronomical school was greatly developed.
  Professor M.A.Kovalsky for the first time investigated in detail the
  movement of Neptune planet. Academician, scientist A.V.Vishnevsky with a
  world name became the founder of original method of local anesthesia.
  Discovery and development of the largest petroleum deposits in the territory
  of Tatarstan are connected with the activity of Kazan scientists-geologists.
