Tukhvatullin Rafail
A Tatar prose writer. Rafail Tukhvatullin was born on January 1, 1924 in the village of Novyi Savash of Arsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan. Being a young man he worked as a miner in Donetsk region. Later he worked as a tractor driver in Tataria. In August 1942 R. Tukhvatullin went to the front. In 1957-1959 he studied at the Higher Course of Literature in Moscow. Having graduated from it, he moved to the city of oil industry - Almetiyevsk, where he turned to literature activity. In 1948 R. Tuchvatullin's short story 'Class mates' won the prize of the competition of the best short story and essay. So the debut of the young writer became a success. In 1957 the first collection of his short stories 'Familiar noise' was published. Many short stories and novels of the writer are dedicated to the war and post-war village life. The writer found his heroes among common people of labour. There are reflections about the man and the land, about their fates. The other distinguished feature of R. Tukhvatullin's creative style is its warm, poetic and lyrical character. Concerning this, the story 'My fellow-villager Nabi' was his most distinguished work. The lyric novel 'Agymsou' is about labour routines of collective farmers and black gold producers, about relationship between villagers and oil industry workers. R. Tukhvatullin died on July 19, 1994. |
