The basic works are on research of electronic paramagnetic resonance,
theoretical substantiation and development of acoustic paramagnetic
resonance. He discovered the influence of nuclear spin on electronic
paramagnetic resonance (together with B.M.Kozyrev and S.G.Salikhov, 1948).

Bolzani Iosif Antonovich was born in Berlin on September 18, 1818. His
father was an Italian who lodged in Berlin where started a confectioner's
shop; he intended his son Iosif-Fortunat to trading activity. Iosif had
ability of fast studying of languages, on reaching 20-year age, he could
speak French, German, English and Italian; subsequently he learnt also
Russian which spoke almost as a Russian.

Evgeny Konstantinovich Zavoisky was born on September, 28, 1907 in the city
of Mogilev-Podolsk in family of a military doctor. In 1908 the family moved
to Kazan. In school days the future scientist excitedly was engaged in
radio. In 1926 he entered the physical and mathematical faculty of the Kazan
university.
