ššKazan is a large railway, highway and aviation unit, the largest port on the Volga River.
ššIt's a big centre of science. The third in Russia, after Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, the Kazan State University was founded. In total in the city 30 work: higher educational institutions, the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan and the Kazan Centre of Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the whole network of Scientific Research Institutes.
ššThe city manufactures: helicopters, planes, compressor and refrigerating equipment, polyethylene, synthetic rubbers, medical and optical devices, washing powders, medicines and many other goods.
ššThe capital of Tatarstan concerns to class "A" on historical-cultural value and safety of heritage (like Moscow and Saint-Petersburg). The Kazan Kremlin is included in the UNESCO list of monuments of "the World heritage".
